Homecoming '24

A year ago I stepped in as the program director of the Computer Science program here at Stout. This has taken over my time considerably and made it difficult (if not impossible) to keep supporting PARSEC. Having settled in a bit (and with a more reasonable course load this semester) I am working to correct this and revive interest in PARSEC and its usage in the classroom!
It is currently Homecoming week at Stout. The parade is tomorrow (Saturday) and as part of that, we are offering fun activities for alumni that are in town and the general campus and wider community here in Menomonie. PARSEC will be open and demonstrating the scanning process as part of those activities!
If you are interested, just come by the Vocational Rehab building room 120 between 11:30a and 1p this Saturday, October 26th. Anyone who is interested in being scanned by parsec will be welcome and we will demonstrate the process and some of the results we’ve achieved so far. I have also invited some current students to come participate so you may be able to talk with them and learn about current projects in the classroom here at Stout.
I hope that we can start to use PARSEC regularly and learn from the process but also get a regular flow of data being generated and shared with the wider community. Stay tuned, and please come by if you are in the area!
